TV
The influence that television, or more commonly known as TV, had on the society is a disputable factor ever since broadcasting has begun.
However, in spite of the many differences in opinion whether it was positive or negative, one fact all of us are sure of and that is that the way humans communicate and convey information has changed forever ever since the firs TV broadcast in 1930.
What Is The Positive Effects?
Most of the discussions entailing TV as a subject and the effects it have on society, tend to be negative. One significant positive effect that TV broadcasting has brought to our lives is it made information and awareness of events all over the world accessible like never before. Before TV, the only reliable source of information was the printed media. TV came and changed that.
And The Negative Effects?
TV is widely criticised for the pitiable way it has lived up to the initial promise to serve the community. At one stage in the 1960’s it was described as “a mindless occupation and time filler.”
One can not ignore the negative social influence it had on people of all ages. The most interesting complaint arise from the justice system claiming that due to programs such as “CSI” and the various relating programs, members of juries expect the same undoubted physical scientific evidence and disregard the tried and trusted motive, testimony, and lack of alibi are presented beyond reasonable doubt by prosecution, which resulted in criminals acquitted!
Looking at the findings of latest investigations, persons with dissatisfaction in their lives, spend 30% more time in front of the TV than their counterparts.
